60 kilometers from Trujillo, about an hour and a half by car, is the ruins of El Brujo. It costs about 15 soles one way by taking a local bus and a moto taxi. The tour lasts about 4 and a half hours and costs 90 soles. The entrance fee to Cao Museum is 10 soles. It can be inconvenient to reach there, so I recommend a tour with a guide.

2017年に、Dama de Cao(カオの女性)と呼ばれる女性のミイラが復元、公開されました。女性の指導者の存在を表す大発見となりました。いわばモチェ文化の卑弥呼。 併設するカオ博物館ではカオの女性のミイラを閲覧することができます。写真撮影は禁止。In 2017, a female mummy called Dama de Cao (Lady of Cao) was reconstructed and made public. The Moche culture (A.D. 150-700) flourished in northern Peru before the Inca culture. The center of Moche culture is the town of Moche, about 20 minutes by micro (microbus) from Trujillo. It is also the starting point of a tourist route called the Moche Route. Many ruins have been discovered along this route. The Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon are also nearby.

Chan Chan means "shining sun." The ruins were the capital of the Chimu, the second-largest empire after the Inca Empire. There were ten ciudadelas (citadels) surrounded by high adobe (sun-dried brick) walls and several isolated pyramids. You can visit the museum and one of the "Ciudadera" called Nik An.
